Compute Plane

The Compute Plane is a set of Ahana-managed resources that are provisioned into your AWS account using the control plane.

The illustration shows the Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) that contains the Ahana Console control plane in Ahana's AWS account in the top pane, and the VPC containing the Compute Plane in your AWS account in the bottom pane. The line between the two VPCs represents the data separation of the control plane and the compute plane.

Ahana Cloud for Presto - Managed Service

Using the Ahana Console in Ahana's VPC, an AWS VPC and an AWS Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS) are provisioned into your AWS account. Ahana also provisions one instance of Apache Superset as a BI and dashboarding tool to test the Presto cluster and data source connector configuration. For more information see Apache Superset Information.

The Ahana Console is also used to provision Presto clusters into the AWS EKS cluster of your Compute Plane in your AWS account. A Presto cluster contains one coordinator node, at least one worker node, and an optional Hive Metastore (HMS) catalog. For more information see Presto Cluster Overview.

All resources such as the Presto clusters and Apache Superset run in containers in the Amazon EKS cluster in your AWS account.
